But I finished the base game to 100% Map 8 times. Guild Wars 2 remains pretty good, as far as I can tell. The only online games I have managed to enjoy were the ones that could be played effectively as single-player games. It was a really fun Worms-like game that was free to play, I can't recall what made me stop but it was really cool. I guess one game I haven't checked in ages is "Gunbound" I wonder if that's still alive. CS:Source (or go now), World of Warcraft, LoL, Hearthstone, DotA (although it's mostly DotA 2 now) and even Maplestory and Dungeon Fighter Online are all still alive, which is nice. Other than those, my online games are actually mostly alive and well. I almost want to shout out Diablo 2 but it's not close to dead, just nowhere near it's prime (which in a way, makes it dead for me.) It's really how proportionately full of bots and whatnot it is now that is the real nail in the coffin. Notable ones would be a Yu-Gi-Oh card game map on SC, various Tower Defense maps on WC3, Evolves on SC, random Naruto or DBZ "rpgs" on both, Smash TV on SC, Warlocks on WC3 and so on lol. I mean even when those community created maps were fresh you'd rarely get more than 100 people wanting to play them, and a lot of my favorite ones are surely dead now. *facepalm*įor me it's got to be various custom maps on WC3 and Starcraft Brood War. The dev studio (Timegate Studios) filed for bankruptcy 2 years after the launch of Prejudice. So basically they learned NOTHING even though the playerbase told them these were deal breaker issues even before the launch of the first title, and we kept repeating it over and over again. but also required Games for Windows Live, had bad netcode, and had map pack DLC that split the community. Didn't quite take off.Ī few years later they launched Section 8 Prejudice, some gameplay improvements, much lower price, proper marketing push. Bad netcode, required Games for Windows Live, and had map pack DLC that split the community which is a no-no when you are an underdog MP game. My favorite thing were the multiple dynamic missions that would pop up during matches, these significantly broke up the monotony and predictability of the course of a match, and would also have players make use of the entire play area since the objectives could appear anywhere. One of the few games we leave our server open for others to join when it's up. I am usually online with my cousins and a few of my kids with this one and then randoms join the server. This one has maybe 120+ people on a good day but it's a lot of fun. Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition (2013) - Computer. One of my wife's favorite FPS outside of UT and L4D2. Very few people online so this one not played on very often but I do it run via of LAN games at home family and friends. It's the only game where I play with strangers without issue because I meet decent ppl that just play and only chat inbtw matches as maps load. It's a freeware so I did not buy it but the online community is btw 50 to 200 player but I love this game so much. Lots of ppl still play it but I only hit vanilla servers which are rare these days or just LAN it. Unreal Tournament: GOTY Edition (1999) - Computer.I use Doomseeker when I do decided to go online to play strangers but sometimes it's over the population range you've given.
